Sussex – Poppy Manley

Hi! My name is Poppy Manley and I’m very happy to be the Sussex Branch Manager for Woods for the Trees.

I started growing trees, mainly oaks and horse chestnuts, in my back garden just a few years ago. My first saplings have not even been planted out to their final growing position yet, but I am passionate about the importance and benefits of tree planting. I planted my first acorns as an attempt to mitigate my own anxieties about climate change, and I believe we can all take small but significant actions to help in that fight.

I am currently running a tree planting project with the children of the primary school where I work, and I’m looking forward to helping other schools and communities do the same.
